"Schicker bows are crafted using hand selected "Pernambuco" wood, which has been carefully aged for decades, and other high quality natural products. Schicker bows are played world-wide by renowned and famous musicans. Many letters of thanks and gratitude reflect the quality of our work. It is therefore our pledge to keep up this tradition by maintaining the finest craftsmanship and certifying this with our name on each bow.

Horst Schicker bows are completely hand-made with the utmost of precision and care. This is guaranteed by my signature on every bow. The roots of my craft as a bow-maker were virtually laid to me in the cradle by growing up in, the so called "Bohemian Music Area", near Eger, Czech Republic. I did my schooling and apprenticeship in Bubenreuth which is the main centre for string-instrument building in Germany. After working for many years as an apprentice, I passed the examinations to become a master bow builder, certified through the Chamber of Commerce in Germany. I founded my own bow building company in 1971. I have been an honorary Member of the bow builders examination Board in Erlangen, Germany since 1980."
